The Precision Bass.
Sometimes referred to as the "P-Bass",
the Fender Precision Bass was the first offering by
Leo Fender. First appearing in 1951, the Precision
Bass was the first mass produced Electric Bass Guitar,
15 years after the original Audiovox Electric Bass.
The Standard P-Bass, utilising a single split-coil
pickup, solid Alder (and sometimes Ash) body, a Maple
neck and either a Rosewood or Maple fingerboard, has
become one of the most popular basses in musical history.
Carrying on from the legendary design, Fender have
produced many different models of P-Bass. These include
the Deluxe, Vintage, Highway One and Big Block variations.
